{"id":2512,"date":"2016-09-05T10:47:20","date_gmt":"2016-09-05T15:47:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mamapalma.com\/?p=231"},"modified":"2021-09-02T16:01:29","modified_gmt":"2021-09-02T16:01:29","slug":"getting-ready-italy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mamapalma.com\/?p=2512","title":{"rendered":"Getting ready for Italy!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Daniel and I are going to Italy! &nbsp;For a lot of years, we have been saying &#8220;some day we will get to go to Italy&#8221;, and now it&#8217;s finally here! &nbsp;In October, we will be going on a twelve day trip to Rome, Florence, Assisi, Lucca, and more. &nbsp;We&#8217;ve been meticulously planning so that we can make the most of our time. &nbsp;The Rick Steves Italy 2016 book has become my constant companion. &nbsp;We will be seeing family, visiting lots of famous sites, and eating amazing food. &nbsp;We are also extremely excited that we will be taking a cooking class in Lucca! &nbsp;I can&#8217;t wait to share whatever I learn there with you. &nbsp;I plan to blog about the things we see and the foods we eat. &nbsp;I hope you&#8217;ll follow along!<\/p>\n<p>I also want to share a quick recipe with you today for a delicious marinade that I use a lot. &nbsp;It&#8217;s called Tuscan Marinade. &nbsp;My brother in law found this recipe a couple of years ago when he and my husband were making a mother&#8217;s day meal. &nbsp;It is so good. &nbsp;Just put all the ingredients in a large ziploc and let it sit in your fridge overnight. &nbsp;It can be less time if you&#8217;re in a rush, but the longer it sits, the better. &nbsp;We use it for chicken, but I think it would be good for beef as well, or even veggies.<\/p>\n<p>Tuscan Marinade<\/p>\n<p>This is enough marinade for about eight chicken breasts<\/p>\n<p>2 cloves garlic, minced<\/p>\n<p>2 T sage<\/p>\n<p>1 T rosemary (or if you&#8217;re using fresh rosemary, one large sprig)<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 t crushed red pepper<\/p>\n<p>1 t salt<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 t pepper<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 c extra virgin olive oil<\/p>\n<p>Juice of 1\/2 of a lemon<\/p>\n<p>Coming soon will be recipes for chicken piccata, Penne all&#8217;Arrabbiata, Arancini, potato soup, apple crisp, homemade rolls, holiday cookies and more! &nbsp;I am very excited about this time of year and all the foods that my family and I associate with this time of year.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Daniel and I are going to Italy! &nbsp;For a lot of years, we have been saying &#8220;some day we will get to go to Italy&#8221;, and now it&#8217;s finally here! &nbsp;In October, we will be going on a twelve day trip to Rome, Florence, Assisi, Lucca, and more. &nbsp;We&#8217;ve been meticulously planning so that we can make the most of our time. &nbsp;The Rick Steves Italy 2016 book has become my constant companion. &nbsp;We will be seeing family, visiting lots of famous sites, and eating amazing food. &nbsp;We are also extremely excited that we will be taking a cooking class in Lucca! &nbsp;I can&#8217;t wait to share whatever I learn there with you. &nbsp;I plan to blog about the things we see and the foods we eat. &nbsp;I hope you&#8217;ll follow along!
